Although it is smaller, Staccato took great care to ensure that the CS handled as well as a larger 2011. The company claims that the CS offers the same shootability and speed as the larger 2011 model, but in a smaller package. The Staccato CS is light at 22.7 ounces unloaded. It features a 7075 billet precision-machined aluminum frame. According to the company, the CS is the smallest, lightest and most concealable pistol in its 2011 line. The CS features a new grip design that is specifically designed to fit a variety of hand sizes. The pistol’s thickness of 1.2 inches is ideal for smaller hands and conceals it. It is worth noting, however, that the pistol measures 1.45 inches at ambidextrous safetyties. The beavertail grip safety is available along with the manual ambidextrous thumb security. It ensures safe handling at all time. Slide manipulation is easy thanks to the slide’s deep forward and rear cocking serrations, which allow for slide manipulation even when wet. The slide’s 3.5-inch bull bar is located within it to reduce recoil from the shorter, 7.1 inch overall length. The new patent-pending Dawson Precision 3.5 inch toolless recoil system from Dawson Precision also helps you get back on target quickly. You can choose to ride atop the slide with either tactical, full-size, or compact sights. A Dawson Precision patented optical rear sight pairs with the fiber optic front sight. If you prefer, the slide can also be equipped with a deep-milled optic that can be used to choose your red dot sight. Co-witnessing with optics that use the Shield RMS/SMS footprint is possible. Rounds are chambered in 9mm and sent downrange by a 4- to 4.5-pound aluminum long curve trigger. An aluminum flat trigger is also available for an additional fee. The CS has a 16+1 round capacity and comes with a dedicated magazine. Three magazines are included with the Staccato CS.
