Saturday at the Movies: Ultimate Remo Product & Tech Videos

March 5, 2022 Saturday at the Movies: UltimateReloader Product & Technology VideosGavin Gear, the founder of UltimateReloader.com, has started a popular YouTube Channel. Gavin has produced hundreds videos over the past 14 years covering almost every aspect of gunsmithing, rifle assembly and reloading. Gavin is often the first to review new reloading products. Gavin seems to be the first to review new reloading products. His Ultimate Reloader videos are extremely professional with multiple camera angles and careful editing. Gavin, unlike many YouTube video hosts is a skilled gun-builder and shooter. His shop is equipped with modern lathes, mills, and other tools, so he can build his own rifles. There is an alternative to buying multiple expensive bolts. The Modular Bolt System has been created by BAT Machine. Gavin explains the Modular Bolt System in this video. He explains the design and then walks through the entire process of changing bolt head sizes. This can be done in just a few minutes with a little practice. Gavin shows you how to swap bolt heads from start to finish (00.50 – 2:15 time mark). Gavin then uses the BAT Bolt Disassembly Tool, and the BAT Sleeve Removal Tool to accomplish the task quickly and efficiently. Gavin examines different cartridge brass prep processes and then uses the advanced, computer controlled AMP press to determine how these processes affect bullet seating forces/consistency. Gavin commented: “Each process has been examined and a graph of the bullet seating forces is presented. Some of the things we saw were expected, but others surprised us. The computer-controlled AMP Press provides a graph showing exact seating forces. This allows you to optimize your brass preparation to ensure consistent seating. Gavin says: “In recent years, we’ve seen the AMP Press used to tighten quality control by precision reloaders all over the world.” Gavin uses the advanced AMP Press to examine how case neck chamfering impacts bullet-seating force, consistency, and force. Gavin tells us that “In this video we single out one variable, Chamfering Case Mouths. “Creedmoor Sports TX-925 Scale Review Although it is not a magnetic force-restoration, it is one the most reliable strain-gauge instruments you can purchase. The Creedmoor Sports TRX925 Precision Reloading scale is less expensive than a good force-restoration model at $349.95. This is a great deal for those on a tight budget. The TRX-925 scale is very affordable and offers excellent performance. F-Class John provides a detailed 25-minute review of the TRX-925. He says it offers great performance for its price. F-Class John has a popular YouTube channel and produces thorough, detailed product reviews. Three Methods to Determine Cartridge Length to Land in Your Barrel. This video has been viewed more than 250,000 times on YouTube. Gavin demonstrates three (3) methods to determine length-to-lands (L-to–L) This means that you will find the exact length of the case with the bullet when it touches the barrel’s rifling. This dimension must be determined with repeatable precision so that you can adjust your load length for maximum accuracy. You should avoid sitting into the lands in certain disciplines. The Creedmoor Enhanced Press head for the Redding T-7 Turret Press offers many benefits for precision, ease-of-use, and reloading. This Press Head is made from solid 416 Stainless steel and features precision cut threads, an integral detent/track system and seven threaded handles. Creedmoor says: “A machined stainless-steel head, rather than one from cast steel allows for tighter tolerances and an improved surface finish. This ultimately makes our product better for our customers.” The Redding T-7, a well-known turret press, works better with this presshead. It is precision-machined to ensure flatness on both the upper and lower surfaces. Creedmoor Sports now has the Enhanced Press Head available for $179.95. Gavin gives insight into chamber specs, pressure levels and barrel twist rates. He also discusses military 5.56 crimped brass and other important topics. This video is a must-see for anyone new to AR. It has been viewed over 6.3 million times on YouTube, making it one the most popular gun-related videos. Gavin adds: “Don’t forget to check out the full write-up on UltimateReloader.com.” CLICK HERE to read the entire story.
