As violent crime rises and mass shootings increase, Democrats have set their sights on gun controls. If you look at the statistics, however, you will see that the majority of crime and shootings are occurring in Democrat-run areas. They all share one thing in common: strict gun control laws. It is not surprising that Americans agree that gun control will not stop mass shootings. RELATED STORY: A Rasmussen Poll shows that Americans reject more gun control. A recent Rasmussen poll found that Americans agree that gun control won’t stop mass shootings. This was in response to the recent Brooklyn subway shooting. 51 percent of those polled in the United States don’t believe that stricter gun control would be effective in stopping mass shootings. It is also not surprising that the results were split along party lines. 65 percent of Democrat voters believe we need tighter gun control, while only 23 per cent of Republicans agree. A similar percentage of Democrats believes that stricter gun control would stop shootings such as the one in Brooklyn. Despite the fact that Democrat cities have become violent hellscapes and are unable to control their guns, Democrats insist that their gun control policies are effective. They push for more policies, and the situation gets worse. According to Everytown for Gun Safety, New York ranks third in the country for “gun law strength.” California is number one, and was the site of a recent shootout that left six people dead and many others wounded. The statistics in Chicago are headline-grabbing every Monday. Illinois is ranked 6th in the country for “gun laws strength.” Breitbart News reports that “more black voters than white voters support stricter guns control, and 54 percent of black voters believe that stricter gun controls could prevent attacks such as the one in Brooklyn.” It’s worth noting, however, that New York already has many gun control measures that President Biden keeps referring to. It has an “assault weapons ban”, a “high capacity” magazine ban and universal background checks. None of this is helping to keep New Yorkers safe. Time for a new direction. Gun rights advocates often point out that it’s not about the weapon; it’s about the man. We don’t have a gun problem here, but we do have a morality issue, which can be difficult to overcome. According to the poll, 67% of Republicans, 52% Democrats, and 59% of unaffiliated voter said it was impossible to prevent mass shootings. CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb said, “It’s significant that Rasmussen pollsters also discovered that 59 percent believe it’s impossible to prevent shooting incidents such as the one in Brooklyn.” We have always supported expanded concealed carrying by law-abiding citizens. History has shown us that violent crime doesn’t happen on a prearranged timetable and criminals or madmen don’t call ahead to warn their victims.” We need to disarm law-abiding citizens and give them the tools to protect themselves from those who are determined to do harm. Only then will criminals stop randomly attacking innocent civilians. Because they wouldn’t know which civilians might end their reign.
