We reported last year that an Amicus Brief had been filed with the United States Supreme Court. New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen determines if New York’s strict gun licensing law violates constitutionality. New York is now bracing for a ruling on the restrictive firearm law, which would signal a win for gun rights.

Supreme Court to Hear Prohibitive Carry Laws in New York
New York’s Gun Law is Restrictive
New York’s “soft on crime” policies continue to be a success, so crime is expected to rise. Not just any crime; violent crime. New Yorkers are in serious danger According to New York’s politicians, the answer is simple: More gun control. More gun control. Obviously.
New York State Rifle & Pistol Association filed an Amicus Brief one year ago to give New Yorkers the right of self-defense. The United States Supreme Court heard the case last November, and appears ready to render a verdict.
WKBBW Buffalo reports that “I think New York is going to lose it.” James Tresmond, an attorney with Tresmond Law, stated that he believes NYSRPA will win in this case.
New York’s law requires that anyone wishing to obtain a concealed carry license must show “proper cause”. This 108-year-old law is among the most restrictive in the country and only benefits those who don’t care about laws. Law-abiding citizens are now suffering the real-life consequences of this type of restriction.
Tresmond continued, “I mean, from the questions that the judges were asking during trial or the review period. This law, this New York State Law may go down.” New York State will face new problems if it does.
New York will need to rewrite its gun laws if the Supreme Court upholds both the constitution and Second Amendment rights. This will also set a precedent for all other states that restrict firearms in the Union.
Tresmond believes that SCOTUS could make a decision this month, even though it is not certain when. Perhaps June at the latest.
Things are looking up for freedom.
