Sam (L.E. Wilson competed in benchrest matches up until his death. This is Wilson with an Unlimited benchrest rifle that he designed. Wilson company name. L.E. Wilson was the founder. Wilson Inc. was an avid competitor in benchrest and pioneered many of today’s precision reloading techniques. L.E. Wilson, also known as “Sam”, was a friend who was also known as “Sam”. Wilson was a pioneer in accuracy and won many trophies for match wins during his long shooting career. His company continues to innovate, bringing out new products like the Case Gage Depth Micrometer. The photo above shows Sam (foreground), with all his children at a shoot. Jim, Jack, and Mary are behind Sam, who were shooting in Unlimited Class. They say that “the family who plays together stays together”. You can see the use of long, externally adjusted scopes. It was not possible to order unlimited rail guns online in the “build it yourself” era. It’s amazing how times have changed.
