The PDW SD is the fifth model of B&T’s SPC9 range. The PDW SD, like the rest of the SPC9 range-up, is a hybrid of the APC9 and MP5 platforms. The result is a PCC that has all the great features of each rifle, as well as familiar AR handling features. The SPC9 can take all APC9PRO lower receiver groups. The user can modify the SPC9 to accept Glock or SIGP320 9mm magazines. The B&T magazines are also available. Each lower receiver group can be switched legally and easily because it is not serialized. The SPC9 has two charging handle systems, which is a unique feature. For those who prefer the AR feel, the classic AR-style handle can be used. For those who prefer not to have their PCC shouldered, there is a foldable, non-reciprocating charging handle that can be placed above the barrel. Both systems can be used with any manual of arms and are ambidextrous. The 4.5-inch SBR configuration chambered in 9mm features an integrally suppressed, portable barrel system. The system can also be used with an RBS (Reduced Backpressure System), suppressor. The RBS suppressor has a unique design that reduces the amount of combustion gases ejected through the ejection window. For enhanced control, rounds are sent downrange by a two-stage trigger system. The innovative and efficient hydraulic buffer system by B&T ensures that the 9mm carbine is the most light-recoiling available. This means that you can acquire the target faster between follow-up shots, which improves accuracy.
