Second verse is the same as the original. The House of Representatives has broken records. What does a House Judiciary Committee do when federal attempts to ban “assault weapon” fail? You can always try again. This time, you can be more specific and target specific products. Include at least 45 AR-15 rifles and 30 AK-47s.

House Judiciary Committee Seeks Federal Ban on “Assault Weapons”
People are once more blaming the American people for “threats against democracy”. We recently reported that Americans are not keen on the idea of banning assault weapons. But, this is not what the gun control activists in our government see. They will get what they want, and they don’t care about how you feel. You know. “Democracy.”
It is even more troubling that our representatives don’t know that we aren’t a democracy, but a Constitutional Republic. We elect them to represent us, and not ourselves. They won’t let that stop them.
Every school shooting ends with the same result: “Public safety!” “We must ban assault weapons, high-capacity magazines, and get rid of military-style weapons from our streets.”
They conveniently ignore the fact that semiautomatic rifles and mass shootings are both new. The Remington Model 8 was actually available to the public in 1906. Gun violence at the current level is a relatively recent phenomenon. Democrat cities are the most dangerous for gun violence. They all have strict gun control.
Federal Assault Weapons Ban
H.R. 1808 is the bill. The bill, H.R. 1808, was marked up Wednesday. It could be up for a vote on the floor as soon as last week of July. If it passes, it will ban certain models of AR-15 rifles and AK-47 rifles.
Breitbart News reports that “Cicilline’s bill would prohibit the manufacture and sale at least 45 specific AR-15 weapons, including ‘Bushmaster ACR’, Bushmaster Carbon 15, Bushmaster MOE 15 series, Bushmaster XM15. Also, Colt Match Target rifles. CORE Rifle Systems CORE15 rifles. Daniel Defense M4A1 rifles. Devil Dog Arms 15 Series rifles.
“The bill would also ban all AR-pistols and specifically name thirteen: ‘American Spirit AR-15 pistol; Bushmaster Carbon 15 pistol; Chiappa Firearms M4 Pistol GEN II; CORE Rifle Systems CORE15 Rose pistol; Daniel Defense MK18 pistol. DoubleStar Corporation AR pistol. DPMS AR-15 pistol. Jesse James Nomad AR-15 gun. Osprey Armament MK-18 handgun, POF USA AR pistols. Rock River Arms LAR 15 gun.
The bill would also ban the import, manufacture, transfer, and sale of semiautomatic shotguns. This is described in “Sec. 3 Restrictions on Assault Weapons & Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding devices
This is the full power and authority of the federal government to attack specific companies and their products directly. I can recall when civics was taught in school. This was considered a bad thing. But here we are.
There is still hope
Punchbowl News reports that the Cicilline bill, which currently has 211 Democratic cosponsors, and no Republicans, would make it illegal to “import sell, manufacture, transfer” semi-automatic rifles with certain “military” features.
This is a positive step in the right direction, as it has not received Republican support. This is a partisan issue and has very little chance of becoming law. However, we shouldn’t let our guard down. Recent legislation on gun control was led by Republicans, so anything is possible.
Punchbowl continues by saying, “Republicans are going to overwhelmingly oppose the legislation, and there is more than enough GOP no vote votes in the Senate for it to be derail.” A ban on assault weapons offered by Senator Dianne Feinstein (D.Calif.), who also sponsored it in 1994, has only 37 co-sponsors. This indicates that there are not nearly enough votes for a Republican filibuster.
Grab ‘Em While You Still Can
The bill does not address current gun ownership. You are safe if you own any of the prohibited firearms. At least for now. You might consider purchasing any of the prohibited firearms if you don’t already own them. If there is a federal ban on “assault weapon,” you will want to be grandfathered.
Punchbowl claims that the proposal does not – Punchbowl wants to be specific because this will immediately come up – call for the confiscation or removal of any covered weapon any American currently has. This proposal would, however, prohibit the manufacture and sale of new weapons if President Joe Biden signed it into law.
Again, Democrats are selling firearms in record quantities. Gun manufacturers should thank the Democrat party at this point. They do more for gun sales than anyone.
We must not forget to keep our eyes on the ball, despite all the jokes. They might just slip something through one of these times. Keep an eye out for the Hail Mary.
