September 9, 2022The National Shooting Sports Foundation released this week its 2022 Congressional Report Card. It grades all 430 U.S. citizens. Representatives (as at Aug. 8), and 100 U.S. Representatives (as of Aug. 8) and 100 U.S. Senators. Five U.S. House of Representatives weren’t graded due to special elections. They also don’t have any key legislative records to review. This shows voters where their legislators stand on issues that matter to them, such as recreational shooting and hunting, and the right to keep or bear arms,” said Lawrence G. Keane (NSSF Senior Vice President and General counsel). This nonpartisan scorecard shows each legislator’s voting record. These grades show the public voting history of each legislator, as well as their sponsoring or co-sponsoring important legislation, their work in committees, letters signed to support industry issues, and their leadership to support it. “NSSF awarded 32 U.S. Senators and 116 U.S. Representatives with the highest rating of “A+” This includes U.S. Senators. John Boozman (R-Ark. ), Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa. ), John Hoeven (R-N.D.), John Kennedy (R-La. ), James Lankford, Jerry Moran (R.Kan.), Marco Rubio and Tim Scott (R.S.C.). These senators are running for re-election 2022. All U.S. House of Representatives seat will be voted on in November. Grades are meant to analyze each lawmaker’s support during the 117th Congress. They do not endorse or oppose a candidate’s election. Commentary — The Deep Division Between Parties
Dave Workman, Ammoland’s Congressional Report Card for 2022 by the NSSF, was used to analyze the data. It didn’t look good for Dems. Workman points out that the overwhelming majority of Democrats received failing grades. “The six-page NSSF Report Card is a devastating illustration the political chasm between parties on the topic of guns and Second Amendment rights. Mark Oliva, NSSF Public Relations director, stated that 32 U.S. dollars were awarded by the NSSF. Senators and 116 U.S. Representatives with the highest rating of “A+” This includes U.S. Senators. John Boozman (R-Ark. ), Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa. ), John Hoeven (R-N.D.), John Kennedy (R-La. ), James Lankford, Jerry Moran (R.Kan.), Marco Rubio and Tim Scott (R.S.C.). These senators are all running to be re-elected in 2022. All U.S. House of Representatives seat will be voted on in November. There are 40 ‘F” grades in the U.S. Senate. Not one Republican earned one. Independent Bernie Sanders received an ‘F’ while Senator Joe Manchin of W.VA. earned an A’. Senator Jon Tester of Montana, a Democrat, and Kyrsten Sinema from Arizona, a Democrat, received a B+’. Martin Heinrich of New Mexico was awarded a C’. Senators Michael Bennett from Colorado and Gary Peters from Michigan were rated a “D+”, while Washington’s Maria Cantwell was rated a “D-” and Arizona’s Mark Kelly a “D-“. The ‘F’ grades in the U.S. House are too numerous to list, but Chris Smith, a New Jersey Republican, is joined by the others. “President Joe Biden is, like most Democrats, staunchly anti the Second Amendment. He has called for bans of popular pistols and rifles.
