European F-Class Championships at Bisley, UK — F-Open Top 3

September 13, 2022. While American F-Class shooters are getting ready for the U.S. F-Class Championships 2022 in Arizona next month (February 20-22), European F-Class aces were busy this past month at the European F-Class Championships at Bisley in the UK. A few Yanks were also present at Bisley. Erik Cortina, a friend and member of Team Lapua-Brux-Borden, did a great job to take second in the F-Open divisino overall after Alexander Kreutz from Germany. F-Open was won by Gary Costello, a past GB/Euro National League Champion. We congratulate all three. Vince Bottomley, a British shooter and TargetShooter.co.uk editor, sent this note: “We were honored to welcome Erik Cortina to the 2022 European F-Class Championship. There were also shooters from Australia, Canada, Australia, South Africa, and of course Europe. Erik took second place in the F-Open category overall. He is pictured with Alexander Kreutz, German winner (center), and Brit Gary Costello (right). The winner won a Victrix F–Open gun and a March scope, in addition to the usual ‘gongs. Shooters Respect Queen Elizabeth II’s Passing
Participants resigned for one day following the sudden death of Queen Elizabeth II. The Teams event couldn’t be held on the final Sunday because of this. Richie Jones from the UK, who organized the event, said: “With Vihtavuori supporting this year and celebrating 100-years of excellence, [went] all out and attracted our largest attendance to date and promised all our competitors, six consecutive days of intensely competitive, long-range shooting on the world-famous Stickledown range, Bisley, UK.”
