It’s a common saying that you shouldn’t mess around with old people. They are too old for fighting and will just shoot at you.” This is Joe Howard Teague. Los Angeles homeowner Joe Howard Teague, 93, shoots one intruder after getting fed up with home break-ins. This retired plumber is now the face of “mess about and find out.”
A 93-Year-Old Homeowner Shoots a Intruder and Chases Other People
Teague apparently hasn’t had to deal with this type of home invasion before. Riverside County resident was frustrated by the number of home invasions. According to reports, his house was targeted by thieves which led to a series of home invasions. His frustration is compounded by a lackluster response by law enforcement.
ABC News reports that “He was tired because everytime he called the police, the police took forever to come and help him.”
The suspects then kicked in Teague’s door and entered his home. They began throwing things at him. Teague approached them and asked them to be placed under citizen’s custody. He said that they wouldn’t follow that and one of them approached him with a fishing rod.
Teague stated in a New York Post article that “it was just like somebody comes into a gunfight using a pocketknife,”
Teague called 911 at 12:30 a.m., but the homeowner shot one intruder sometime between the call and the arrival of police. Police arrived and found one person with a gunshot wound. They took him to the hospital. Witnesses claimed that they saw Teague’s home evaded by several people on foot.
Teague’s relative told reporters that Teague has many tools and musical instruments. They’re slowly ripping him off.
Malma said to ABC 7 that Malma “took the law into his own hands…He’s been working all of his life and whatever little things are left, he’s (protecting).
Teague was taken into custody to be questioned, but was released soon after.
According to the New York Post story, “The sheriff’s office stated that the initial investigation found Teague guilty of the shooting. However, the probe is still ongoing.”
