October 1, 2022Saturday Movies: Tests of Powder Dispensers and Comparisons There are many electronic powder dispensers available on the market. Prices start at $230 for a Frankford Armored Intellidropper and $240 to a Lyman Gen6. The ultimate powder weighing/dispensing device would be an Auto-Trickler V4 with a top-tier electronic Force Restoration system. This system can cost up to $1200 depending on the scale cost. These videos are a must-see for anyone looking to buy a powder scale/dispenser. You might be surprised at some of the results and you’ll learn more about the machines — their pros, and cons. This review will help you choose the best electronic powder dispenser for you. The Backfire comparison test is noteworthy because the tester spent his own money on all five powder dispensers being tested. Backfire could therefore tell all the truth about the machines, both the good and the bad. Backfire actually bought TWO ChargeMaster Lites after one of them failed (See 14-12). Although the RCBS ChargeMaster Supreme was a favorite of the reviewer, his top choice overall was still the Hornady Auto Charge Pro. The overall design was very appealing to him. He also liked the ability to set dispensing speeds faster or slower. Here are some highlights from the video review:00.08 Speed Test

14:41 Conclusions AutoTrickler vs. Hornady Auto Charge Pro. In the Backfire video comparison, the Hornady Auto Charge Pro powder dispensing machine earned the highest marks among units under $500. The Auto Charge is up against some more difficult competition: an Auto-Trickler V3 equipped with a highly precise Force Restoration scale, a system that can cost upwards to $1150.00 U.S. Dollars. The comparison was conducted by two Australians. They found that the Auto-Trickler system was more consistent and accurate. Notably, the dispense speed was just 14 seconds. The Auto-Trickler V3 system was faster than the Hornady. The Auto-Tricker V3 was replaced by the Auto-Trickler V4, which retails at $490.00 USD. A good Force Restoration scale like the A&D FX120i will cost you $625. Gavin Gear from UltimateReloader.com reviews the new-generation RCBS ChargeMaster. He tests it and verifies its accuracy. He shows how the unit is programmed. Gavin uses an A&D FX120i Force Restoration Scale at the 17:20 mark to verify the ChargeMaster Supreme’s accuracy in charge-weighing. The results were good.In the first part of this video, starting at 3:42 time-mark, Gavin Gear compares the notable features of the $430 ChargeMaster Supreme with the $300 ChargeMaster Link and the $899 RCBS MatchMaster.Frankford Arsenal Intellidropper vs. RCBS ChargeMaster Link The Frankford Arsenal Intellidropper, now just $230 on sale at Midsouth, was very innovative when first released, offering remote Bluetooth access and a wide range of programmable features. The downloadable app stores your load data, and has preloaded bullet- and powder databases. This video compares Intellidropper to another modern powder dispenser that is Bluetooth-enabled, the RCBS Charmaster Link. A free RCBS App allows you to control settings remotely.Hornady Auto Charge Pro Review by Ultimate Reloader As the $350 Hornady Auto Charge Pro dispenser was top-rated in the Backfire comparison at the start of this article, we thought we’d include a detailed review from Gavin Gear of UltimateReloader.com. This video is a thorough review of the Hornady Auto Charge Pro and Gavin is the most articulate tester. AUTOTrickler V4 & Force Restoration Scale. The AutoTricklerV4 paired with a high-quality Force Restoration scale is the “Rolls Royce” of electronic powder dispensing system. It offers unrivalled charge-weight accuracy, great repeatability and super-fast dispensing speeds. The AutoTrickler V4 can load precise, consistent ammo. It costs $490 for the V4 and $625+ for the scale. This F-Class John video demonstrates how to set up and control the dispensing, trickling, and scaling functions. The AutoTrickler V3+ scale system delivers incredible speed and repeatability, as well as near-single-kernel precision. The MatchMaster features dual dispensing tubes, a slower, “Match Mode,” dispensing function, and a special, faster, “RCBS ChargeMaster” dispensing mechanism. This video answers the question: “How does a common powder dispenser compare to stand-alone weight scales?” Here, the tester compares the weighing precision between an early-model RCBS ChargeMaster and four dedicated scales: A&D FX120i (Force restoration), Hornady G2-1500 (Gen 1), Hornady GS-1500(Gen 1), and a WAOAW microgram scale. The FX-120i Force Restoration is the most expensive of these scales. The four scales’ features and prices are listed at the 4:41 mark. Accuracy/repeatability comparison testing with test weights starts at 10:12 time-mark.
