Spyderco Endura4 Wharncliffe Maximizes EDC and Defensive Utility

Spyderco is familiar with the Endura 4. The model has received a utility-enhancing facelift, featuring state-of-the art steel and the corresponding signature blue scales. The updated Endura 4 Wharncliffe by Spyderco is easy to use and performs hard. The Endura 4 is versatile enough to be used for utility, defensive, or both. Spyderco Endura 4 Wharncliffe – Expanding on the Endura 4 line, the Wharncliffe now uses premium steel for longer lasting performance. The durable K390 MICROCLEAN steel is used to make the 3.78-inch blade. It has excellent wear resistance, great toughness and high compressive strength. Spyderco states that the Endura 4 is now available in K390 MICROCLEAN steel. Although it was previously available in Wharncliffe models, this steel is the first to be made. The full-flat-grind gives a smooth edge and the Wharncliffe blade profile provides excellent cutting power. The Endura 4 Wharncliffe has incredible cutting power. The recognizable Trademark Round Hole provides single-handed operation, bringing the blade to bear from its FRN (fiberglass-reinforced-nylon) handle. The blade is locked at its full 8.76 inches length by a high-strength back lock. The FRN handle scales of the Endura 4 Wharncliffe feature the blue color of Spyderco’s elite K390 family. The Endura 4 is supported by skeletonized stainless steel liners. The scales are injection-molded and feature a non-slip bi-directional texture design. This promotes a solid purchase even when wet. The lightweight FRN material makes the Endura 4 easy to carry and weighs only 3.4 ounces. It can be carried right-hand tip up, but you can also use the four-position pocket clip to carry it left- or right-hand tip up. Spyderco also has a trainer version of the Endura 4 Wharncliffe that you can use to EDC it for defensive purposes. The trainer has the same FRN scales as the pocket clip configuration so you can train with whatever you have. The trainer’s scales are red so you don’t accidentally train with a live knife. Although the trainer is expensive at $136.50 it is worth the investment. Spyderco Endura4 Wharncliffe is now available with a MSRP of $204.00. Spyderco.com has more information.
