GAP Grind 10th anniversary PRO-AM Match Was A Big Success

October 12, 2022. The 10th Annual GA Precision/Elite Tactical GA Grind PRO-AM took place at the K&M Shooting Complex, Tennessee. The GAP Grind was the most popular PRS match worldwide and attracted hundreds of shooters from the USA and other countries. The GAP Grind is the premier PRO-AM precision rifle match, with individual and team competition. It has been a great way to introduce new shooters to the sport. It was a great pleasure to see the GAP Grind celebrate its 10th anniversary. The largest PRS match of the year attracted hundreds of people and saw more than 80,000 rounds fired over three days. The GAP Grind had competition stages as well as a vendor area, live entertainment, and music. Bushnell awarded $5,000 to the top finishers and added more than $5,000 to the prize table. Trophies will go to the top 5 teams and top 5 professionals as well as the top 5 amateurs. Each member of the team will shoot a similar course, with slight modifications for Amateurs. The Professionals will shoot the first stage unassisted. Each stage will be shot by the Amateur with professional assistance. Scores from both days will be added to team standings and individual standings. This gives Precision Rifle Series shooters an opportunity to earn 2 days PRO Series points for this match. Amateurs … may earn PRS Regional Series points.” There are 20+ stages of action.

GAP Grind is a “high-tempo” match that has minimal down-time. Over 20+ stages, competitors will fire 200+ shots on a variety moving, reactive, and steel targets up to 1,200 yards. The size and difficulty of the targets will vary depending on the shooter’s position, distance and time. Most stages include “stressors” — i.e. There are usually time limits and/or required movements. Matt Rice, Bushnell senior media liaison manager, said, “Sponsoring GAP Grind was always a privilege, but this 10-year mark made them especially fun.” “GAP Grind is about giving both experienced and novice shooters a safe place to practice and improve their skills. Our partners at K&M and G.A. Precision and PRS have done an amazing job in making this goal a reality.
