The A22 Takedown can be easily separated into two parts by a quarter-turn (90 degree) rotation of its fore-end. The A22 Takedown can be easily transported in a backpack when hunting or camping. You can also store the gun in your car. It is easy to separate the A22 Takedown into two parts. The new A22 Takedown ($479.99 MSRP), has other cool storage features. The cheek-piece can lift up to store three, (3) 10-round rotary magazines. A takedown rifle has the first advantage of being smaller and easier to store. The Savage A22 Takedown measures 36.875 when fully assembled. long. Each section measures 18 inches when divided into two sections. Each segment can be stored in a small day-pack. The two segments can be transported in a vehicle in an onboard storage area or in the spare tire compartment with appropriate padding. You can also transport the Savage A22 Takedown rifle in a 24 inch package. The Discrete Carry case is a unique design that makes it easy to disassemble the Savage A22 takedown rifle into two parts in just seconds. First, make sure that the gun is empty. Next, remove the magazine and pull the bolt back. The safety should be activated and the muzzle pointed away from you. Double-check the chamber to ensure there are no rounds! Next, hold the gun horizontally and grab the fore-end. Then turn one-quarter of the clock clockwise. Next, gently move the barrel/forearm section forward. This will expose the action’s front and reveal the.22 LR chamber at the fore-end. The video below shows how it works. To reassemble the A22 Takedown, move the fore-end towards action with the rear view at the 3:0’clock position (right-of-center looking towards the muzzle).
