CMP Games events such as the Garand and Springfield, Vintage Military and Modern Military, Rimfire Sportser, Carbine, and Vintage Sniper will once again fill the rifle competition calendar. Those who want more educational experiences can sign up for the Pistol and Rifle Basic courses which teach firearm basics in a one-on-1 classroom setting. Register now for the Western CMP Games. More information and registration forms are available on the CMP Western Games Website. A Rifle Marksmanship 101 match with M16 EIC will be held. The GSM New Shooter Clinic, and the M1 Maintenance Clinic are also available. A 3×600 Rifle match is another addition to the Western Games schedule in 2023. The competition will include sighting shots and then three 20-shot strings to record the fastest slow-fire prone shot from 600 yards. Competitors can use Match Rifle or Service Rifle during the 3×600 event.
For the second year, a series of pistol opportunities such as the Pistol 2700 and.22 Rimfire Pistols, EIC Pistols, 1911, Military & Police Service Pistol will be available. The CMP has added a Service Revolver EIC Match match to its schedule for 2023. Competitors can register for the Individual Pistol Match Bundle at a reduced price for competitors who fire in all five individual pistol matches (.22Rimfire EIC Pistol; EIC Service Pistol; EIC Service Revolver; 1911 As-Issued Pistol; Military & Police Pistol). The Bundle is even more attractive because of slightly higher entry fees than all Western Games events in 2023.
The CMP Highpower Matches, which are not part of the Games schedule include three days of 800 Aggregate contests with additional recognitions for the culmination 2400 Aggregate race. Highpower events include 4-Man Team and Service Rifle EIC matches, which create more exciting opportunities on the firing line. CMP Advanced Highpower Clinic
CMP Instructors will also conduct a CMP Advanced HP Clinic, which includes live fire practice and training. Some of the most respected civilian Highpower service rifle competitors will be giving lectures and demonstrations at the clinic. Participants must bring their own rifle, ammunition, and shooting equipment to the clinic. CMP staff will also be present at each match to ensure safety. All ages are welcome to join the fun, competition, and new experiences.
