In just a few years, Philadelphia has become a criminal haven. The powers that be believe that repeating the same failed policies will solve the problem. In reality, however, things have gotten so bad, one North Philadelphia gas station owner hired an armed security guard.
Philadelphia Gas Station Owner Hires Armed Security Patrol
It turns out that gun crime increases when strict gun control is enforced. Who would have thought that? I think criminals didn’t get the memo that guns are not allowed. Perhaps someone should tell them.
I covered 12 Democrat-run municipalities that had broken their previous homicide records at the start of the year. Actually, quite a lot. This is not to mention general gun-related crimes like carjackings and robberies. Philadelphia is, as you might have guessed.
It isn’t getting better for Philly. It is actually getting worse. One gas station owner was fed up and decided to hire armed security personnel to guard his station.
ABC 6 reports that Neil Patel hired Pennsylvania State Agents to guard his KARCO gas station at Broad & Clearfield streets. Now, he has at least two agents on the premises nightly and an armed presence daily.
One of his 22 stations was the Karco gas station at Broad Street and Clearfield streets. This station has been subject to drug trafficking, robbery and gang violence. After his business was vandalized and his car was damaged, Patel lost his ATM.
Patel finally reached out to Andre Boyer, the private security firm Pennsylvania State Agents. Boyer clarifies that they are not security agents, but Pennsylvania State Agents. He said that they provide security services for the public when the police are unable to be there.
Out of Options
It is not surprising that mixed emotions are expressed about the move. Boyer stated that there was tension during the first week with many asking if they were in Beirut. Others, namely those with concealed carry licenses approve and feel safer.
Fox News’ Patel says, “I listen, but some people say that violent people, they have the guns, and they’re not afraid.” This is the protection of the customers and the neighborhood.
It seems that Patel is the only one who can do it, regardless of whether people like it or otherwise. He may also be legally bound to do this. David Thiruselvam, a Philadelphia-based attorney, represents victims of crime. He currently represents nine clients who have sued gas station owners after being shot on their premises.
ABC 6 states that “Thiruselvam said, Pennsylvania law requires owners to protect customers from known dangers.”
The article continues to state that Philadelphia police data has shown that firearm robberies at stations have increased by more than three times in the past few years according to Action News. Other crimes are also on the rise.
Media and Democrat politicians would like you to believe guns can’t save lives. People who live in the real world understand better. Patel claims that his business has been free from loitering and other crimes since he hired the security patrol.
Guns save lives. It’s a fact that business owners and criminals both know.
