You must be a U.S. Citizen and a member or affiliate of an organization that has participated in a “Marksmanship Activity” to purchase an M1 Garand from the CMP. This basically means that you must join a gun club to participate in a clinic, match, or other activity. All ages must show proof of club membership and citizenship. For those over 60, however, the marksmanship requirement has been waived. Garands can only be ordered by mail or through official CMP Auctions.
