Colt has never been a big fan of bolt-action rifles, but the company just announced the Colt CBX Precision Rifle System. This bolt-action rifle will be available in two chambering options:.308 Winchester or 6.5 Creedmoor. The barrel of the.308 model is 24 inches, while that of the 6.5 Creedmoor model has a 26 inch barrel. The rifles are virtually identical, despite the difference in the barrel length. Both barrels are made of carbon steel and button-rifled. They also have 5/8×24 UNEF threaded mummies. The barrels have a black nitride exterior and come with thread protectors. It also has a thumb shelf, barricade, QD sling cups, and an ambidextrous magazine launch. The rifles can feed from AICS-pattern magazines. Each rifle will come with one 5-round Magpul Magpul mag. The rifles come with a Picatinny rail that fits Rem700 scope mounts. Colt also guarantees that the rifles can produce sub-MOA groups.
