January 26, 2023 Legacy Sports Int’l presented a new line Howa rifles at SHOT Show 2023. This will appeal to hunters and PRS/NRL Factory Class competitors. The new Howa Hera H7 rifles feature an internal aluminum V-block chassis and a modern composite stock body. The forearm, also known as “forestock”, is made of aluminum with M-LOK slots. The rear half of this German-engineered stock is fiberglass-reinforced polymer. These rifles are very affordable at $839.00. You can remove the butt panel, which allows for some internal storage. The rifle comes with two AICS-compatible 5-round magazines. There are THREE options for barrels: 24?, 24?, and 24? Carbon-wrapped, 24? Heavy Contour and 22? Light Contour. All have “suppressor ready” threaded muzzles. Hunting enthusiasts will choose the Carbon-wrapped barrel while PRS/NRL shooters and professionals will choose the Heavy-barrel configuration. This adjustable 2-stage trigger is one of the best factory triggers we’ve ever used. All rifles come with a SubMOA guarantee and a lifetime warranty. Two chamberings are currently available: 6.5 Creedmoor or.308 Winchester. We hope Howa will offer a 6mm chambering soon — 6XC, 6GT or 6mmBR. We are not happy with the design of the lower section of the rear stock. It starts at a downward angle, like a normal hunting stock. Then it angles upwards to the buttpad. This V-shaped design might not be compatible with a standard rear bag. Some owners might add a piece of Delrin, or aluminum to their bag-rider.

The Hera Arms H7 Chassis stock system for the Howa (short-action) system is modern and easy to use. Made of fiberglass-reinforced polymer, with aluminum V-block and aluminum forestock, this stock system comes with two spacers, a polymer cheekpiece and an AICS-compatible, 5-round magazine. Mounting accessories can be mounted to the H7 stock system via M-Lok mount points. The Tan version is shown above with carbon-wrapped 24 barrel.Howa 1500 HACT 2-Stage Trigger
The Howa 1500s have the Howa HACT trigger. This adjustable, two-stage trigger is about 3 pounds in total (combined stages). This trigger is excellent for factory guns. It is crisp and repeatable. The safety lever is not Glock-style and is located in the middle of each trigger blade. The 2-stage design and pull weight range are ideal for hunting rifles or rigs for PRS competition. Rifleshooter.com states that the Howa trigger is “one the best factory triggers, alongside Tikka.” The Howa trigger is superior to the Remington 700, and the Howas doesn’t need to be replaced. Steve Comus, a writer for the Western Outdoor News, WONews.com has field-tested HACT Trigger. Steve writes: “I have always loved two-stage triggers because I could take up the slack and then know when the rifle was going off. The [HACT] trigger took only a few seconds to activate. The second stage’s crisp, positive release of pressure [reminded] me of some of my target rifles that I have shot over the years. “Similar Posts:Tags: 6.5 Creedmoor, AICS Magazine, Carbon-wrapped barrel, Hera H7 Rifle, Howa Action, Howa Hera H7
