Rock Island Armory recently introduced the RIA 5.0 pistol. This 9mm American-made pistol has a unique combination of features. The company unveiled the RIA 5.0, its first American-made firearm, at SHOT Show 2023. The RIA 5.0 is a full-size 9mm pistol. It combines a few elements from other handgun designs to create a single pistol. Firstly, the pistol has what RIA calls its patented RVS Recoil System. It is claimed to reduce recoil by increasing barrel mass and linear movement. The slide rides inside the frame, much like a CZ-75. This lowers the bore axis, and reduces muzzle flip. The frame is made from aluminum, not polymer, which allows for a lower bore axis and less muzzle flip. The RIA 5.0 comes with a Dawson Precision fiber-optic front sight and an LPA adjustable back sight. You can also purchase a pre-installed C-More RTS II dot sight. The RIA 5.0 comes with a 17+1 magazine capacity and an accessory rail. It can also be purchased with a pre-installed C-More RTS II red dot sight. It’s also made entirely in the USA.
