February 26, 2023NOTE – This article is an older one, but the SW Nationals are taking place this week, so we thought our readers might enjoy another view of an extremely rare F-Class rig. It was created by Sebastian Lambang, creator of the SEB Coaxial Rests and Coaxial Joystick Bipod. Sebastian Lambang, the creator of the SEB Coaxial Rests, and Coaxial Joystick Bipod, created this unique hybrid wood-alluminum stock. Sebastian (“Seb”) Lambang designed the F-Class stock in wood and aluminum back in 2013. The stock has a long, box-section aluminum front-end and a wood rear section. It also features wood-trimmed wings on the front bag-rider. The aluminum forearm is equipped with “buick vents” to reduce weight. The stock is mostly wood from the rearward end, with light and dark fancy wooden laminates on the opposite sides (left and right). Although it appears that the rear wood section is two separate pieces of wood, this is not true. Seb explains that the buttstock is hollow, made from thin-walled wood to save weight. Seb also added carbon fiber to the buttstock to strengthen its construction. What you see is a wood shell with carbon fiber layers inside. The stock sports vertically-adjustable cheek-piece and buttplate. This stock is innovative and interesting. As with all Seb products, the workmanship, fit, and finish are excellent. Seb also created a set of handsome angled scope rails and beautifully-machined scope rings to go with the gun. Imagine being able create one-off products like this in your machine shop!
