March 15, 2023 — Only 4 Pounds, 7 Ounces Howa claims its new Super Lite rifle, the “absolute most lightweight centerfire rifle on sale”. We are unable to confirm this. The carbon-fiber stock Super Lite model weighs in at just 4 pounds and 7 ounces (without the optics), which is very low in mass and weight. This is a big plus for hunters who need to carry their gear for long periods of time in the field. The Howa Super Lite rifle comes in 6.5 Creedmoor or.308 Winchester chamberings, which are two of the most popular hunting chamberings. Legacy Sports Int’l, Howa’s distributor, stated that Super Lite rifles with.243 Winchester or 7mm-08 chamberings will be available by summer 2023. (See Kyptek Altitude camo above). The Howa Super Lite will be available in three new solid colors for 2023: gray, tan and green. These new Super Lite models are made with the strong, but lightweight Stocky’s Carbon Fiber stock. They also have a black webbing and soft touch for extra texture. Howa will offer a walnut-stocked Super Lite rifle for 2023. This rifle weighs slightly more at 5 pounds, 9 ounces. 7 oz. (Walnut Stock, 5 lbs. 9 oz.)
