Vortex Optics just released the Defender CCW micro-red dot sight for concealed carry pistols. The optic has all the features shooters expect from modern pistol red dots. It also comes with some new tricks. The Defender CCW can be mounted via the Shield RMS footprint and is available in 3-MOA and 6-MOA reticle options. Although the optic can be used with micro-compact handguns as well as full-size pistols, Vortex claims it has the “largest sight window in its class” which allows users to shoot with both eyes open. This will allow them to maintain superior peripheral vision and spatial awareness. The unit measures 1.6 inches in length, weighs 0.95 ounces, and is slim enough to be easily carried. Vortex claims that it has the “largest sight window in its class” to allow users to shoot with both eyes open and maintain superior spatial awareness. The Defender CCW has a manually adjustable brightness level and the battery can be changed without taking the optic out of the weapon (takes one C1632). Vortex calls Fast-Rack the most distinctive feature on the Defender CCW. It’s the texturing on the red dot’s front that allows one-handed rack off of unusual surfaces. This is a great idea to carry a self-defense pistol red dots. One can never be sure that one hand will be available in an emergency. The optic’s rugged appearance is enhanced by the texturing. Each Vortex Defender CCW comes with a Picatinny mounting, a protective rubber cover, and a 1-inch Shim plate. It’s available now and has an MSRP of $349.99.For more information, please visit vortexoptics.com.More On Pistol Red Dots:NEXT STEP: Download Your Free Storm Tactical Printable Target Pack62 Printable MOA Targets with DOT Drills – Rifle Range in YARDSThis impressive target pack from our friends at Storm Tactical contains62 printable targetsfor rifle and handgun range use.
