Pepper spray, an irritant, can be a great equalizer in non-lethal self defense. They don’t have a very long range, however. They are therefore only effective at short distances. Guard Dog Security makes it possible to reach further with products such as the FireBall Pepper Launcher.
The Guard Dog Security FireBall Pepper Launcher
The lightweight FireBall is made almost entirely of aluminum and is easy to carry and shoot. The non-lethal balls can travel approximately 500 feet per second thanks to a CO2 cartridge. Although it won’t be enough to disarm your attacker, it will leave a mark that will not be removed in the shower. The pepper balls can travel 60 feet. You don’t need to wait for your attacker before you launch your defense.
The pepper balls explode upon impact, creating a 6-foot-long cloud of red pepper. You don’t need to be as precise as you would with a regular firearm. The pepper cloud will work as long as the target is within the same radius as the pepper cloud. A trigger safety prevents accidental discharge, but don’t worry.
An integrated Picatinny rail permits the attachment of a light/laser to aid in target acquisition. The FireBall Kit 3 also includes a laser. The FireBall Kit 3 includes traditional-style iron sights so a laser is not required for those who are experienced with firearms.
The CO2 cartridge that propels pepper balls is located in the same place as a magwell. The FireBall can also fire pepper balls and chalk balls, rubber/kinetic, POM balls or piercing aluminum.50 caliber balls. The balls can be loaded into a magazine with a capacity of six rounds.
FireBall is non-lethal and therefore does not require any permits, background checks or licenses.

Guard Dog Security told me that you can mix and match the ammo. This opens up a whole new range of defensive options for the pistol. I would load one pepperball and the rest with aluminum or POM balls. Most likely aluminum.
Let’s face the facts, an attacker who wants to hurt my family or me deserves the full brunt. The pepper is the first shot to disorient him, and the next shots are POM or aluminiu to further confuse and discourage him. Then, get out of there.
According to the company, the first ball in a mixture of ammo is the last one out. Plan accordingly for the order of fire.
