Bond Arms Goes Big With the Heavy Hitting Big Bore Cyclops.45-70

More power! Bond Arms is not new to big bore pocket pistols. But they have outdone itself. You thought shooting.45 ACP and.410 from a small-frame pistol was difficult. But wait, there’s more. Bond Arms’ latest big bore, the Cyclops is here. It can carry a payload up to.45-70. It’s a great idea, but I want to see it. The Bond Arms Cyclops.45-70. Although it has a similar construction and frame/barrel material to other Bond Arms models, the Cyclops is different from the rest. It is the company’s only single-shot derringer. It is designed to fire the.4570 rifle round. The bore axis of the 4.25-inch barrel is slightly lower because it uses the extra space from a second chamber. The Cyclops’ 28-ounce total weight is also increased by the addition of steel. These two factors work together to reduce the felt recoil and make it easier to shoot. The Cyclops measures 6.75 inches in length and has a trigger pull of 7 pounds. (Photo by Bond Arms). Although the barrel is different from other Bond Arms pistols, the sights remain the same and are fixed to the barrel. The barrel is now fitted into a single action frame, which is stronger and more durable than ever. The new extended grip is ergonomic and features a B6 resin grip. Bond Arms is a company that offers the possibility of larger rounds in a pocket demerger. Bond Arms is planning to add big bore action in.50AE,.454 caull and.44 Mag very soon. Editor’s note: The Cyclops were not available at Range Day for Bond Arms during SHOT Show. It was not available for me to photograph. The company did have it at their booth and I was able hold it. The Cyclops was a heavy round for a smaller pistol. The pistol’s weight and lower bore axis should help to reduce the felt recoil. A single shot from this bad boy is enough to make a strong statement. Availability The Bond Arms Cyclops.45-70 is now available with an MSRP price of $699.00. BondArms.com has more information.
