Shotgun suppressors aren’t new but they aren’t as common as other chamberings. JK Armament decided to change that. The company introduced two new suppressors that fit 12-gauge shotguns, with a unique baffle design. The suppressors are lightweight and mission-configurable, which allows for greater flexibility. JK Armament Shotgun Suppressors Made of 7075 billet aluminum, the suppressors have a Type 3 hard-anodized coating. Each suppressor also features the same patented trumpet-style baffles with interchangeable internal choke end caps. This prevents the shot cup from separating as it travels through the suppressor. This allows for increased accuracy and velocity. This also ensures that plastic doesn’t get stuck in the suppressor or host. Each suppressor’s configurable design allows for different mission-specific configurations. The SXG 12G is configurable from 3.75 inches to 11.75 inches and weighs between 4.3-16 ounces. The VersaX 12G, a smaller version the SXG, can be set up from 3.75 inches up to 7.9 inches. The VersaX weighs in at 4.3-9.3 ounces. “We wanted a practical shotgun suppressor. Jake Kunsky, JK’s Director of R&D and Founder, stated that they wanted it to be lightweight, affordable, and easily reconfigurable. JK also offers the CRMD (Choke Replacement Muzzle device) to mount your suppressor on your shotgun host. The JK Bald Eagle 12G replaces the choke tube and threads onto the barrel. This makes it suppressor-ready for an additional $179.00 Current CRMD’s can be threaded for Rem Choke and Benelli Crio Style, Benelli Mobil Styles, Beretta Optima HPs, Browning Invector Plus and Mossberg 500 Style. JK offers custom choke services if your choke is not listed. The JK Armament shotgun suppressions have a barrel limit of 7 inches and are fully auto-rated. JK recommends shot shells with shot cups-style wads and says that suppressors can be used with buckshot, steel and lead, and slugs. The choke caps can also be purchased in full, modified, or skeet versions.
