Cottontail Rabbit Hunting With Suppressed.204 Ruger AR-15 The.204 Ruger combined with an AR-15 is a versatile and worthy cartridge/rifle combination for varmint hunters. It is extremely accurate and efficient. The case can propel 55gr varmint varmints at high speeds — over 3500 FPS. You can load 90gr bullets with a barrel that twists faster at 2500 FPS. The tester reached speeds close to those of a 22-250. The short, fat case may not feed as well during rapid fire because it is too small.
