First Look at Sightmark Wraith Thermal Riflescope

Sightmark’s Wraith Mini 2-16×35 Thermal Riflescope is its first digital riflescope to feature thermal capabilities. Some of this technology is for the face, while others are for the rifle. But, regardless of what it is used for, the ability to see in darkness is gaining popularity in the shooting community. Sightmark is the latest company to try the concept with its Wraith Mini 2-16×35 Thermal riflescope. The optics of Sightmark’s Wraith line of riflescopes were already able to see in the dark due to their built in CMOS sensors, but the Wraith Mini Thermal takes it to a whole new level. Existing Wraith models only had digital night vision at night. During the day, users could only use a digital scope. The new model has a thermal sensor with a resolution of 384×288 and five color palettes for thermal display. It can be used at any time during the day to hunt any type of game. The unit features a 1,400 yard maximum detection range, 2x optical magnifying range with 1-8x zoom, and an OLED screen with 1024×768 pixels so images are crisp even at higher zoom levels. The unit can be used to store up to five firearm profiles, and users can choose from a variety of reticle colors and reticle options. The downsides are the reliance on batteries (2xCR123A) as well as a battery life of 3.5-4.5 hours. Each Sightmark Mini Thermal Riflescope comes with flip-up lens cover, a removable throwing lever, a Rubber Eyecup, two batteries, and a USB Charging Cable. The MSRP for this product is $2,099.97.
