The 2023 CMP Springfield M1A Match takes place at Camp PerryThe 16th Annual Springfield Armory M1A Match is scheduled to take place during the CMP National Rifle Games matches in 2023. The CMP will host the event on Sunday, July 30, 2023, the same weekend as the Garand/Springfield/Vintage Military matches. Springfield Armory’s Mike Doy saw the M1 Garands and M1A rifles disappearing from the High Power firing line. “I wanted to get the M1A rifles back on the field and out of their safes and closets. I proposed the idea to run an M1A match at Camp Perry 11 years ago. In the first year, we had more than 600 competitors and spectators.” The match now offers some of Camp Perry’s biggest payouts. Springfield Armory donated over $25,000 in cash and prizes to Camp Perry in recent years. This includes a $2,000 cash prize for the overall winner.
