Beretta announced the APX A1 Tactical, an upgraded version of its existing polymer-framed pistol. It wasn’t too long ago that Beretta released the standard variant of the APX A1 FS, but it has announced a more advanced variant, called the APX A1 Tactical. It’s the same 9mm polymer-framed full-size handgun but with a few extra tricks. Beretta says it was developed in cooperation with special forces units and the APX A1 Tactical is equipped with everything you expect from a modern tactical gun. The APX A1 Tactical features a 1/2×28 barrel, black suppressor height sights and an extended Beavertail. The grip has interchangeable backstraps and a three-slot Picatinny accessory rail. It also features a high trigger undercut. Beretta does not specify the exact details of the APX A1 Tactical’s optics-ready slides, but assuming it is the same as the FS model, the slide has been milled so that it can accept one of Beretta’s optic plates. These plates will allow any optic compatible with the footprints of Leupold C-More Aimpoint Burris/Docter Trijicon to be mounted. The magazine catch remains reversible.Nicola Lorenzi is the Pistol Products Manager at Beretta. She said the following about the new handgun. “At the NRA Show in 2023, Beretta will introduce the APX A1 Tactical. It features the 1/2-28-threaded barrel, black full-serrated sound suppressor sight, three 21 round mags, OD green frame, with a backstrap of black. The APX A1 Tactical was developed for an Italian SF Unit. It is the flagship model in the APX Family. The target grids and bullseyes are measured in MOA.
