SSUSA Report on the 2023 F-Class World Championships

There’s a nice report on the F-Class World Championships that were held in South Africa earlier this year. The latest issue of Shooting Sports USA, available online for free, contains a detailed six-page report on the F-Class Worlds. This major event includes individual and team competitions. The F-TR Team South Africa finished second in the F-TR World Championships, while F-TR Team USA won the F-Open World Championship.Team USA won gold and silver at the 2023 F-Class World Championships held in South Africa. The U.S.A. F-Open Team won the F-Open Team Championship in South Africa with a 3540-366V (South Africa finished the team match with 3535-374V – a “V”, in the USA, is the same as an “X”) score.SSUSA Editor John Parker writes: “In March, for this year’s F-Class World Championships in Bloemfontein in South Africa, the United States had sent a united F-T/R team and F- Our F-Open rifle team defeated South Africa at its home range in over 20 years, winning the F-Open Aggregate gold in an historic victory. The 2023 South African National Championship preceded the F-Class World Championships at Bloemfontein. U.S. rifleshooter Erik Cortina led the F-Open leaderboard, with a score 687-65V. Cortina and his 7mm PRCW are featured on the cover. The F-Class World Championships took place at the Genl De Wet Shooting Range near Bloemfontein in South Africa from March 26 to April 1, 2023. The individual matches were held over several days in difficult conditions, with erratic winds and rain delays. The wind was also a challenge for the team matches. Both F-Open and FTR team matches were shot over multiple metric distances, including 700m, 800-900m. B. Kolodziej was the top American F-Open scorer with 448-50V. Todd Hendricks (444-53V) was his teammate who had the most Vs.
