Sig Sauer has recently shown off the Romeo M17, the red dot developed by the Army for its new Sig M17 guns. This exact model, however, is not available for civilians. Sig has announced a new series of optics inspired by the ROMEO X for non-military shooters interested in its design. The new line is available in two sizes. They are called the ROMEO-X Compact, and the Romeo-X Pro. The former is for smaller handguns such as Sig P365, while the latter is for full-size guns like the Sig P320. The Compact model was mounted using a Shield RMSc footprint, while the Pro model used a DeltaPoint Pro foot print. The two ROMEO red dots share many features, besides their mounting footprints and sizes. The red dots also have motion activation technology, magnetic activation technology, and are capable of co-witnessing standard-height iron sights. The red dots are also equipped with magnetic activation and motion activation technologies. They can also co-witness standard-height sights. Andy York, President of SIG SAUER, said the following about the new red dot sights: “The ROMEO-X series is designed for ease-of-use beginning with the side-mounted battery placement that leads to an overall low height of the sight.” This profile allows the optic to be mounted at a low height on the slide, allowing for a full view and co-witnessing with standard-height sights. The ROMEO Compact and ROMEO X Pro were engineered, tested and built in Oregon to be the ultimate aiming solutions for EDC.MSRP of the Sig ROMEO X Compact is $519.99, and MSRP of the ROMEO X Pro is $589.99.More Red Dots for Pistols:The Red Dot ADVANTAGEThe Best Optics for CCWThe Trijicon RMRThe Swampfox Liberator IINEXT STEP The target grids and bullseyes are measured in MOA.
