RCBS Celebrates its 80th year in business — Founded in 1944

Eight decades of providing handloaders with high-quality, American-made reloading tools. Justin Smith, RCBS’s product line manager, said that RCBS continues to deliver top quality reloading gear backed by world-class customer service after 80 years. “The brand has not lost the essence of what Fred championed in 1943, and the men and woman in Oroville truly bleed green today. You’ll find it hard to find another group that cares as much about the quality of the products they produce and their consumers. “The RCBS tale began in 1943, in the backroom at Fred T. Huntington’s father’s dry-cleaning and laundry business in Oroville California. Huntington, a dedicated shooter and a.22 caliber bullet maker, wanted to make his own bullets of high quality for local varmints called rock chucks. He designed and crafted “Rock Chuck Bullet Swage”, a name that was later shortened to RCBS. In the decades after becoming a business RCBS quickly grew from a tiny shop into the leading manufacturer of reloading gear in the country. RCBS, which now uses state-of-the art equipment in large production facilities, has stayed close to its roots in Oroville. Product manager and R&D Engineer, Steve Koch has seen RCBS’s impressive expansion first-hand. Steve Koch has been with RCBS for over 40 year and knows how passionate Oroville employees are. “80 years has brought a lot of changes. Koch said, “I’m very proud that I have spent 45 years in this great establishment.” “Everyone in Oroville is very proud of the work we do. This American-made reloading press will feature a red, white, and blue design and will be limited only to 1,000 pieces.
