Howa’s Super-Lite Rifles Under 5 pounds will be available for hunting season on October 9th 2023. Howa claims its new Super-Lite rifle is “the absolute lightest centerfire firearm on the market”. We can’t confirm this. The Super Lite model with a carbon-fiber stock is listed at 4 pounds, 7 ounces without optics. This is a very low weight and mass. The Howa Super Lite is available in 6.5 Creedmoor or.308 Winchester chamberings, which are two of the most popular hunting cartridges. Legacy Sports Int’l is Howa’s distributor and says that Super Lites in.243 Winchester, 7mm-08, and Kryptek Obskura chamberings will be available by summer of 2023. The Howa Super Lite was first introduced in Kryptek Altitude, and Kryptek Obskura camo designs (see Kypteck Altitude in the photo above). Howa Super Lite rifles are now available in three solid color designs for 2023: gray, tan and green. These new Super Lite models all use the strong, but light Stocky’s Carbon Fiber stock. They also feature a soft touch and black webbing for added texture. Howa will offer a walnut-stocked Super Lite rifle in 2023.
