We have always loved Tikka actions. Now, there is an excellent re-barreling solution for Tikka T3 users. Criterion Barrels Inc., makers of “prefit” barrels, for Savage Remington and Rem-clone action, also produce Tikka prefits. Solid Accuracy is a reputable Texas-based company that sells high-end rifle components, including barrels, stocks, and scopes. Solid Accuracy says: “Each Solid accuracy/Criterion prefit barrel features a hand lapped bore and meets the highest quality standards.” These barrels can be swapped out in a matter of minutes with a barrel nut and headspace gauge. Solid Accuracy offers finished barrel lengths up 30” and multiple contour options. These Tikka prefits were introduced in 2017 and the accuracy results have been impressive. Solid Accuracy’s first test rifle featured a Tikka T3 mounted in a KRG X Ray chassis with a Criterion barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor. The group below was fired with a heavy load of Sierra 140 grain MatchKings and H4350 seated.009″ in the lands. Criterion is very proud of the Tikka project. These barrels are perfect for the Tikka platform. One of Criterion’s staffers was so pleased with the results of the initial tests that he built his own Tikka T3 with a Criterion fitted barrel.
