Three Great Rifle Champs Reveal Wind-Reading secrets

Three great champions reveal in this article their secrets of wind-calling through video interviews. This “Three Champions’ story was first published a few years back. These interviews are great for competitive shooters who want to learn how to read the wind. These guys are some of the best rifle shooters ever, and they have a lot of wisdom to share.
We had the opportunity to ask three “superstars of High Power Shooting” for their wind-reading secret at the 2010 SHOT Show. In the videos below, Carl Bernosky (10-Time Nat’l High Power Champ), David Tubb (7-Time Nat’l Long Range Champion and 11-Time Nat’l High Power Champ), and John Whidden (Six-Time Nat’l High Power long-range Champion) share some of their wind-doping techniques that have helped them win the nation’s most competitive matches. Watch these videos to learn valuable tips that will help you shoot more accurately and achieve higher scores in any wind conditions.

We were fortunate to have three champions who are exceptionally gifted reveal their “winning methods”. These guys are REALLY knowledgeable. I thought: “Wow, that’s how a baseball enthusiast would feel if he had the chance to gather Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron and Ted Williams together and have them reveal their hitting secrets.” Editors Note: The interviews were conducted prior to all three men winning their most recent National Championships, so the introductions might list a lower number. John Whidden, for example, won back-toback LR Championships between 2016 and 2017.
