Project ChildSafe aims to raise $250,000 for its 25th anniversary

Project ChildSafe (r), the firearm education and safety program of NSSF (r), The Firearm Industry Trade Association, will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2024. Project ChildSafe, which was launched in 2004, has helped to raise awareness about the safe handling and secure storage of firearms when they are not in use. It also educates children about firearm safety. NSSF hopes to raise $250,000 in the next year so that it can provide more free educational materials and gun locks to gun owners throughout the country. It now serves all 50 states as well as the five U.S. Territories. Project ChildSafe, which distributes safety kits that include a cable style gun-lock, educational brochures, and more than 40,000,000 safety kits to date, has distributed over 40 million. The firearm safety kits will be distributed in partnership with over 15,000 local law-enforcement agencies and 13,000 organization partners. Joe Bartozzi is the President and CEO of NSSF. He said that Project ChildSafe, which has been operating on both a national and local level for 25 years, has provided genuine firearm safety solutions to those communities who need them most. Since its launch, fatal gun accidents have reached historic lows.
