August is Shooting Sports Month – Head to the Range and Have Fun
Tomorrow is the first of August, which means it’s time for National Shooting Sports Month. The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), asks you to bring a new shooter on August range to help increase the number of shooters. It’s a noble mission. Increasing the number of shooters is the best way for us to protect our Second Amendment rights.
Coast-to-coast celebration focuses on the joy and enjoyment of target shooting. Experienced shooters can invite someone to the range, while newcomers can take their first shots. An experienced shooter can also invite someone else to the range and help an old shooter rediscover the joy of target shooting. This month-long event includes all shooting sports, including rifle, pistol, shotgun, and other handguns.
Find Shooting Sports Events near You
The NSSF’s ShootingSportsMonth.org website offers a comprehensive, searchable database. You can search by state to find ranges, events and sales promotions close to you. To find matches, clinics and training sessions, as well as special sales, visit the NSSF online database.
Enjoy the range with great FREE targets
The NSSF created a dozen free downloadable targets to promote National Shooting Sports Month. Regular bullseyes are also available, along with Darts, Golf, etc. We love the Billiards target, and the Water Balloons target is a favorite of ours. All 12 targets are free to download and can be printed, preferably with a color printer. Get cracking!
