When it comes to light transmission or field of view, bigger is usually better. The TSN-99 Prominar is a brand new high-end spotting scope by Kowa. It features a massive 99mm front objective lens. The 99mm spotting scope comes with a Fluorite XD (extra-low dispersion) lens that allows for maximum light transmission. It features superior edge-toedge sharpness and minimal chromatic aberration.
The primary TE-11WZ II eyepiece of the TSN-99 provides a 30-70X magnification range and a 40X extreme-wide-angle. This would be extremely useful for wind-reading. The existing accessories for Kowa’s series 88/77 are compatible with the TSN-99 series spotters.
A spotter this large is a must-have. This will be a popular choice for ELR shooters and wind coaches. This new optic may appeal to those who started with a 60mm and then moved up to an 80mm or even 88mm. It will offer better low-light performance. The objective is 99mm. This equals 3.898 in.
This big spotter is lighter than expected thanks to its 100% magnesium alloy structure. The angled model is 3.99 lbs. The straight version weighs 4.04 lbs. (1810 grams). (1835 grams). Kowa claims that the TSN-99 series’ magnesium body makes it “one of the most compact, lightweight and portable in its class… making it more mobile than many other models.” The objective lens has a protective Kowa KR coating that actively repels dirt, moisture, and dust.
Avaliable accessories include: TE-11WZ II 30-70X wide zoom eyepiece, TE-80XW 40X extreme-wide-angle eyepiece, TSN-EX16 1.6x extender, plus Digiscoping adapters.

Kowa also offers the Kowa TE80XW eyepiece to the TSN-99 spotter series. The TE-80XW provides an 80-degree view and is one of the most comprehensive with comparable magnification. This view is 37 meters wide (40.5 yards) at 1000m distance. This would allow you to see a wide range of wind flags and targets with 40X magnification.
The TE-80XW features a field-flattener lens that maintains flat resolution across the entire 80-degree field. The Kowa TE80XW is waterproof and sealed against the elements. It also has Kowa’s unique KR coating that protects against dirt, moisture, and dust.
