GAP Grind PRS Match for Shooting USA Tomorrow
Shooting USA TV highlights the 2020 GAP Grind, which is the largest and most well-known PRS Pro-Am Tactical Match. The 2020 GAP Grind/Bushnell Pro/Am was held last October at K&M Precision Shooting Center in Finger, Tennessee. The largest PRS match of the year was a three-day event that featured both amateur and professional classes, with individual and team competition. The competitors included top professionals as well as those who were shooting their first tactical match.

There is lots of action with 20+ stagesThe GAP grind is a high-tempo, challenging match with minimal downtime between stages. Competitors will fire 200+ shots at a variety moving, reactive, and steel targets up to 1,200 yards over the course of 20+ stages. The size and difficulty of the targets will vary depending on the shooter’s position, distance and time. Most stages include “stressors” — i.e. There are time limits and movements that are required.

GAP Grind attracts approximately 300 competitors, half of them experienced shooters and half newcomers to the sport. Attracting new shooters is key to the growth of shooting sports. Pro-Am format seems to be the best way to attract “new blood”. The GAP Grind is a competition where experienced shooters share their knowledge with new shooters.

GAP Grind Hardware
The GAP Grind will have the latest and greatest PRS hardware. In 2019, many top competitors “stepped down”, moving from the 6.5/6mm Creedmoor to smaller, more efficient 6mm Dasher and other 6mm cartridges. The Dasher is more accurate than the 6.5 Creedmoor and has less recoil. Kahles optics are used by many top shooters. Shelley Giddings.
