Howa Mini Action Rifles: Compact, Lightweight Field Rigs
Since their introduction a few years back, we have been a fan of the Howa Mini Action rifles. These Mini Action rifles are a great choice for a small “truck gun” or carry-around Varminter. The current chamberings are.223 Rem, 7.62x39mm and.350 Legend. There are 20? Heavy contour and 22? standard contour barrel options, plus a 16.25? Only the.350 Legend is heavy.
6.5 Guy Ed Mobley Tests The 7.62×39 Howa Action Rifle
The Howa Mini Action rifles include the HACT 2-stage trigger and a 5-round, or 10-round, synthetic-detachable mag (depending upon caliber). The Mini Action’s bolt is 13% smaller than regular short actions, resulting in a shorter bolt throw and a faster bolt throw. The Mini Action’s weight is also reduced. This results in a compact and very easy-to-use package.
6.5 Guys Test How a Mini Action in 6.5 Grendel and 7.62×39
The 6.5 Guys have recently acquired a pair Howa Mini Action rifles in 6.5 Grendel chambered and one in 7.62×39 Russian. Legacy Sports provided loaners in 6.5 Grendel, and 7.62×39 respectively. These rifles are well-known for their light weight and smooth cycling, as well as unique chamberings that can be used with bolt rifles (6.5 Grendel, 7.62×39). We really enjoyed them. Legacy Sports also conducted extensive accuracy testing of commercial ammunition in 7.62×39 and 6.5 Grendel. With a remarkable 0.29 accuracy, 6.5 Grendel ammunition was the most accurate. Alexander Arms with Lapua123gr Scenar was the best; second was Hornady (0.56). Hornady used 123gr Amax bullets. Hornady’s 7.62×39 ammo was the most accurate, 123gr SST at 0.62. Group in the 20?
