Packable Henry AR

The Henry AR-7 survival rifle is a unique weapon. This little semi-auto rimfire rifle weighs only 3.5 pounds and can be used as a utility gun in a truck, ATV, or to control pests by farmers or ranchers. The cleverly designed AR-7 is affordable, only $299.99 from Sportsman’s Warehouse. We think that most gun owners would enjoy adding an AR-7 into their collection. The Henry AR-7 can be easily carried in a vehicle or backpack. The barrel, receiver and magazines fit inside the buttstock. That’s handy. This little 3.5-pound gun is surprisingly accurate. If you are artistic (and confident with spray cans), then you can paint your AR-7 as this owner did. The talented gun-painter says: “[This] is a great little gun. It is accurate, and I love the way it packs up. I paint all of my black guns. “I already took a grouse from 16 yards.” History of the Henry AR-7 rifleIn 1959, the AR-7 was given to U.S. Air Force pilots as a survival weapon to use in remote areas if they became stranded. The AR-7 is still a favorite among bush pilots, backcountry adventurers, and backpackers who, like the Air Force, need a rifle they can easily carry but that can also take down small game. The original Henry U.S. This innovative semi-automatic rimfire rig, like the original Henry U.S. Highly portable. The Henry U.S. can be assembled in a matter of seconds without the use of any tools. Survival AR-7 is ready to go. Another AR-7 owner wrote this review: Simple goodness: Henry AR-7 – Fun modern version of a classic

Henry did a great job with this modern AR-7. Assembly is as simple as finger-tightening. The orange plastic sight at the end of barrel is loud but easy to aim with. At 50 feet, I was getting grapefruit sized patterns from each 8-round magazine. I was surprised to find that a six footer could pull the length of the gun for a compact takedown. It didn’t feel crowded. This would be a good choice for realistic backpack, bug-out, or bail-out situations. It was fussy when you used a single Rem Golden magazine in the first one… but it worked fine after that. The safety is large and easy to use. It is right-handed. The charge handle retracts, so you must pull it up before pulling it back. But that motion became reflexive pretty fast. The mag eject pushes out in front of the trigger. Overall, [the AR-7] offers a] nice, compact form-factor. It is light and perfect for backpack plinking, varmint hunting, and low-rent sniping.
