Breaking News — The 2021 NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits were cancelled in Houston Texas on September 3-5, 2021.
Here is the official statement of the NRA.
Important Announcement: NRA Annual Meet CancellationDue in part to safety concerns for our NRA family, and community, we regret to announce that the 2021 Annual meeting & exhibits has been cancelled. This cancellation applies to all Houston events and meetings. We will notify you in the future about a rescheduled date of the Annual Meeting of Members.
After analyzing pertinent data about COVID-19 in Harris County Texas, we made this difficult decision. Before making this decision, we also consulted with local officials, major sponsors & exhibitors, and many NRA members. The NRA Annual Meeting attracts thousands of people and includes many events, meetings, social gatherings, and more. Our annual meeting features acres of exhibit space that showcases the latest and greatest firearms and countless accessories. We also offer group adventures and group gatherings that many people travel hundreds of miles to experience. We know that it would be difficult, if certainly impossible, to provide the full guest experience our NRA members deserve.
The NRA’s top priority, as a group, is to ensure the health and well-being our members, staff and sponsors. We are aware that NRA Annual Meeting patrons will be returning home to their family, friends, and co-workers from across the country. Therefore, any virus-related effects could have wider implications. These are some of the reasons we cancelled our 2021 event.
We want to thank all our attendees, exhibitors, staff, and members for their understanding and support. We are grateful to the George R. Brown Convention Center and the many contributions made by state and local officials, community organizers and area hotels as well as numerous other venues throughout Houston. We are grateful for the support we receive from Houston and the State of Texas. We hope to return to Bayou City for an unforgettable annual meeting experience.
The NRA is looking forward to a Celebration of Freedom at Louisville in May 2022. We will continue to support other NRA events in the meantime.
We wish safety and health to all members of the NRA family.
