FN today announced the first tactical configuration in the industry of an optics-ready.22 LR pistol. The new FN 502 Tactical features a slide-mounted red dot mounted on the rimfire platform. It is inspired by the Low-Profile Optics Mounting System of the company and offers many options as well as co-witness sights.

This week, FN continues to make big announcements. Yesterday we announced the long-awaited FN SCAR, which will be available with a non-reciprocating charge handle. This launch shows FN’s willingness and ability to listen to customers. The 502 is a high-capacity.22 LR tactical pistol that can be used as a plinker, trainer, or defensive pistol.
Built to Run Hard
According to FN, the trigger of the single-action, hammer fired pistol is the best in its class. The gun is fed by a high-capacity, 15 round magazine. According to FN, it features improved ergonomics, balance, and ambidextrous controls. It is range-ready, a nod to the FN509 family.
Chris Cole, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, FN America, LLC, stated that FN continues to study the market to find unmet customer needs. “FN saw a large gap to fulfill with our new semiauto rimfire pistol,” he said. “Most rimfire handguns of this type are smaller, have limited capacity and lack accuracy enablers. The FN 502 Tactical is a.22 LR handgun that we have combined the best features of the FN 509 Tactical with this new rimfire. It offers a unique shooting experience. The FN 502 Tactical is a highly capable rimfire pistol that features a 15-round magazine, an excellent trigger, and the ability mount most micro red dots and suppressors quickly.
The pistol features FN’s Tactical feature set. It has a 4.6-inch barrel and a target crown-threaded 1/2×28 inch to accept most.22 suppressors. The 502 tactical has a strong, target-style design. It is topped with a red dot to provide shooters with a high-end range experience.
The 502 tactical ships with a 15-round magazine and 10-round flush-fit mag. Plates are included to mount compatible miniature red dots optics. It can also be used with most holsters for the FN 509 Tactical. Visit fnamerica.com for more information.
