These extraordinary hunting tools have been used to harvest game on almost every continent since their introduction. And their rifles are only getting better. Although the company was primarily known for making traditional wood-stocked guns, they have been able to make hunting rifles that are more efficient and powerful by using modern construction materials. Weatherby’s new Backcountry 2.0 rifle range takes things to the next level. The new Backcountry 2.0 rifles build on the success of the Mark V Backcountry line. They now come with titanium receivers, carbon fibre components, and more caliber options.
All Backcountry 2.0 rifles include the new carbon fiber Blacktooth Stock. You can also choose a titanium receiver or carbon fibre barrel to further reduce weight. Depending on the options, the Backcountry2.0 can weigh as low as 4.7 pounds. Weatherby also included a muzzle brake and recoil pad to make it lighter. The recoil pad is 3D printed with a honeycomb pattern. It compresses and prolongs the recoil impulse, spreading the same energy over a longer time. Accurate and hard-hitting

Weatherby’s testing revealed that the BSF tensioned carbon-fiber barrel system for the new Backcountry achieved a.06 inch group at 100 yards. Weatherby’s accuracy record was set by this rifle using Weatherby Select Plus ammo. However, it is still a remarkable demonstration of the rifle’s potential for high mechanical precision.
