First Look: Sig Sauer SLX and SLH Suppressor Series

The new SLX/SLH suppressors were born from Sig’s participation at the Army’s Next Generation Squad Weapons Program. Although the actual development of automatic weapons for the program is still far away, people are excited about optics, suppressors, and ammo. We’ve already seen the composite-cased ammunition that was developed for the program, which is now commercially available. But now, two new suppressors from Sig Sauer will soon be on the market–the SLXX and SLH. Next-Gen Construction
The SLX and SLH suppressors can be made using DMLS technology. The SLX/SLH suppressors can reduce noise, flash, and toxic fumes fired back at the shooter by not having to weld baffles. The suppressors are also rugged enough to be used on the battlefield because of their monolithic construction. This allows for a reduction in hot gases being blown back at the shooter’s face. This issue is present on many suppressors and weapon platforms. However, Sig’s new designs include a multiflow exhaust path to expel gases before they can cause injury or irritation. This can only be done using Sig’s new DMLS construction methods. Which One?

Although they share many characteristics, the SLX and SLH suppressors are very different. They both have a monolithic core, and are made using DMLS. They are military-grade durable, but the SLX prioritizes the redirection of gas, while the SLH is quieter. The SLX comes in 5.56 NATO and 7.62 NATO, while the SLH is available in 300BLK or 7.62 NATO to maximize sound reduction. The SLX as well as SLH suppressors can be ordered with either Sig’s new Clutch Lock QD mounting system, or traditional direct thread. They are rugged, efficient, and innovative. These new Sig suppressors will meet your needs, whether you are looking for a versatile suppressor that can do it all or one that is quiet and efficient. They are not listed at a MSRP, but they appear to be available online at around $1,000, depending on the options.
