Wayne LaPierre is re-elected as NRA Executive Vice President and CEO

The Annual Meeting of Members of the National Rifle Association (NRA), was held in Charlotte, North Carolina, on October 1, 2021. After the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits scheduled for September 3-5 in Houston, 2021, this meeting was organized quickly. The NRA Board of Directors meeting preceded the Annual Meeting of Members. This year marks 150 years since the founding of NRA. The most important news from the meeting was that Wayne LaPierre (72 next month) remains in charge at the National Rifle Association. The NRA Board of Directors re-elected LaPierre as Executive Vice President/CEO. Since 1991, LaPierre has been the NRA’s top officer. Texas Attorney Charles Cotton Is New NRA President
Charles Cotton was elected President of the NRA. Cotton is a Texas attorney. He is a competitive pistol shooter and a consultant to the Texas State Rifle Association. Cotton is also the founder of the Youth Action Pistol League. This is a program for junior shooters. Cotton has been a member of the NRA Board of Directors since 2000. He was also the NRA’s First Vice President. Charles Cotton, the new NRA President, stated that it was an honor for a man who grew up hunting and plinking. Cotton is now the President of NRA.

Lt. Col. Willes Lee (ret.), are two other important new NRA executives who have taken office. David Coy is the Second Vice President and the First Vice President. Their offices are still held by John Frazer, NRA Secretary/General Counsel, and Sonya B. Rowling, NRA Treasurer. Jason Ouimet was reappointed Executive Director for the Institute for Legislative Action, and Joseph De Bergalis Jr. Executive Director, General Operations.
