Cimarron Announces The 1897 Trench Gun Replicate Is In The Works

Cimarron Firearms is known for making replicas of classic American guns and has begun work on the 1897 Trench gun. This pump-action 12-gauge 12-gauge, first designed by John Browning, and manufactured by Winchester, has become a true American icon. Since its debut in the Philippines in 1899 it has been a recognizable weapon in America’s arsenal. It continues to win hearts and minds. It was used in the Old West and during WWI, WWII, Korea, and even early Vietnam. It’s no surprise that the 1897 trench gun is so sought-after. This classic shotgun is almost impossible to find for American gun owners. Original Winchester trench guns can be expensive and collectible. There is hope for those who long to own one of these American staples. In September, Cimarron Firearms CEO Mike Harvey revealed that the 1897 trench gun was Cimarron Firearms’ latest project. He announced the news while displaying his personal Winchester 1897 trench weapon from WWII. It was a well-maintained example with a U.S. property stamp and flaming bomb stamp. Mike stated that the gun would be used as a basis for their reproduction model. Cimarron is currently seeking customer feedback to guide the development process. Your opinion could have an impact on the Cimarron’s decision making. Details such as whether you prefer their 1897 trench gun be a takedown model, or capable of slam fire are still being worked out. With such a classic design, there will undoubtedly be many individuals waiting to hear updates on Cimarron’s progress, but in the meantime, all we can do is hope that the final product will be sturdy, reliable, historically accurate and reasonably priced. For more information, please visit cimarron-firearms.com.More American ClassicsNEXT STEP: Download Your Free Storm Tactical Printable Target Pack 62 Printable MOA Targets with DOT Drills – Rifle Range in YARDS This impressive target pack from our friends at Storm Tactical contains 62 printable targets for rifle and handgun range use.
