It is more efficient than the flat, orange baseplate provided by the manufacturer. Matt, also known as “Arkcomatt”, explains that these bases are made from aluminum and assembled with stainless steel screws. Screws are used to secure the rubber feet. No more slipping. For smooth operation, the legs have nylon washers between them. The screws are torqued with thread locker. The best thing is that the standard attachment fits in the case with unit. The spikes (shown above) can be used in the same way as rubber feet. Arkco Machine’s LabRadar folding base is praised by Forum members:
This Forum Thread contains user reviews about the LabRadar Quad Base. Bart Sauter, a bullet maker, has one of these bases and recommends it: “These bases work great with the LabRadar. Compact and stable — just grab it and go! Peterson1, a Forum member, agrees that this is more stable than the Labradar for me to use-off a concrete BR benches, but takes up less space. It is also easier to set up the unit and aim at target. Never transport the unit in a LabRadar case. The only negative is that you cannot trade in the factory LabRadar Base towards purchase of this base. Make sure you buy smart the first time! Forum member SkiUtah02 uses the base and optional spiked feet. “I met up with Matt at Sierra Cup and purchased my base with… spikes to put in the ground for my feet. It worked great today, I had the chance to test it. I removed the rubber feet, and screwed in the four spiked feet, added a threaded-rod-coupling nut onto the bolt so that I could mount an old photography lighting stand swivel head to the base! It worked perfectly. Matt, thank you! Similar Posts: Tags Arkco Machine, Arkcomatt and Chronograph Mount, Chronograph Mount, Folding Labradar Bases, labradar, Swivel Head
