November 10, 2021 Remington Firearms, America’s oldest firearms manufacturer will move its global headquarters to LaGrange, Georgia. They will also open a new advanced manufacturing facility and a research and development center. RemArms will invest $100M and create 856 jobs in Troup County, Georgia over a five year period. Remington Firearms was founded in 1816 and is one of the largest domestic producers shotguns or rifles in the United States. Many of the company’s most strategic products will be made in Georgia. Founded in 1816 by Eliphalet Remington in New York, Remington is the oldest continuously-operating gun manufacturer in the United States. Before the reorganization, Remington sold more shotguns and sporting rifles than any other American company. Remington has produced more cartridges than any other U.S. corporation. Remington was the only American company to sell firearms and ammunition under its own name for decades. As a separate company, Remington ammo can now be produced in Arkansas. Vista Outdoor, parent company of CCI and Federal, RCBS, and other major brands in the shooting/outdoor industries, acquired Remington’s ammunition business.
